What isnât to like about tokio hotel?

They are successful, have a sense of humour and make cool music. Is there anything that isnât fun about tokio hotel? And what do they think are the downsides of there lives?
What are your not so good habits?
Bill: My brother talks to much.
Tom: Ow, and you donât?
Georg: Gustav is most of the time the most quiet out of the four of us.
Gustav: I rather stay on the background. Some people think I am in a bad moot but that isnât the case at all. I just not that much of a talker, but if I have an opinion about something I will definitely give it.
What are you still embarrassed about?
Gustav: We once had a food fight in a hotel during dinner and it got a little out of hand. We arenât allowed there anymore.
Georg: And then we got back there one more time just to run around the hotel screaming.
Bill: I sometimes feel embarrassed when I get really sweet letters from fans where they really write about personal stuff, but we almost never have the time to write something back.
Georg: Oh, and I am embarrassed about the fact that I kissed every girl in my class in kindergarten. Yes, yes, I had a wild time in my young years!
Tom: A girl once broke up with me because she thought I gossiped about her. That wasnât true at all but she did hit me in the face.
What have you been teased with ?
Bill: In school my brother and I were teased because we looked totally different. Not that we could care, we just did our own thing and are each others best friend anyway.
Tom: We donât have many friends from our school time, but I donât mind that. We already have each other and I am happy with that. And, by the way, having 3 best friends is already a lot.
Have they ever called you names?
Bill: People sometimes call me gay, but I just donât respond to that. The fact that I use make-up doesnât mean that I am gay. If we are talking about fan mail, I am not even getting the most gay letters. Those are for Gustav.
Gustav: Very funny, are you busy again, Bill?
Bill: No serious, I really thought I would be the most popular among the gay people.
Tom: They just get a letter or card back. Besides that people never call us any names.
Georg: Otherwise we send our strong and muscled drummer after them.
Gustav: And you can bet that I hit hard! I think I am gonna do that in a clipÄ with some of these band membersâŠ..
What do you dislike about being famous?
Bill: I donât like being photographed everywhere. I always used to think that famous people were just complaining about the paparazzi, but now I found out myself. Look, I get that it is funny to take a picture of me when I am lying on a beach in the Maldives but it is kinda annoying. The worst is when they takes pictures of me during parties. I always look like an idiot on them.
Georg: I also donât like it when people act all hysterical. Last time I wanted to give a girl a hand but she nearly fainted. Then I just think: Hello, I am also just human.
Which question gets you angry?
Tom: This one: Why is the band called tokio hotel?
Bill: I donât get angry that quickly, I still like doing interviews.
Gustav: They also ask if we have a girlfriend very often. Not that it gets me angry, I just give an honest answer.
Georg: Or fans will understand that we donât stay single forever.
Tom: Well, if they donât understand that, then that would really make me angry!

How is it to be this famous and to live it all together?

How do you feel about the fact...that there has been some hysterical already around the HMH a few dyas before the concert?
Bill: We heard that there was a long line outside already in the morning and we have heard the screaming.
Tom: It is always cool to play somewhere when the tickets are sold out quickly. Then you know for sure that these are the biggest fans and everyone is gonna rock. That is great for us, because we like it that way.
Georg: The first time we played in the Netherlands they told us that when you pay in the HMH you truly have made it.
Bill: So we are very honoured.
How do you feel about the fact...that some fans almost respond agressivly when they see you?
Bill: Agressive? No, they just have some emotiones and uhmm.... are really good at expressing them. Our fans go wild during the performance and sometimes someone cries, but there is nothing wrong with that.
How do you feel about the fact...that you are gonna conquer America soon?
Georg: Yes, that's a rumour from the internet, right? There have been rumours a lot lately that we are working on our breakthrough in America, but they are not true at all. First we wanna score all over Europe. Personally i love breaking through in England, but when that's gonna happen nobody knows. We will see, there are no concrete plans.
Gustav: And we have to do a little tour first.
Bill: Every night another performance, every night another hotel, every day packing and un-packing and every day travelling. We are not gonna make plans until the tour is over. How we will regain strenght after this busy time? Lots of sleep! But in my case my battery also recharges when i perform.
Gustav: And we stay in shape by eating lots of sweets and unhealthy food.
Tom and Bill: How do you feel about the fact...that your 18 now?
Bill: Great, finally! I was really looking forward to this cause we are allowed to do a lot more now. We can make our own descissions, vote and drive a car. We haven't started working on our drivers license yet but we are going to soon. I now have the feeling that i am truly free, wonderful!
How do you feel about the fact...that there is so much gossip about you on the internet?
Bill: We don't read everything, so then it's ok. There is so much written that we couldn't even keep up if we wanted. Every day you have new gossip, it just never ends.
Georg: I only use internet to check my email. Every day thousands of message are being posted about us on different forums, but i am not gonna spend my time on that. I also don't wanna know what people claim to know about us.
How do you feel about the fact...that you get citicised in the newspapers sometimes?
Bill: In the beginning we were struggling with that, but after a while we couldn't care anymore. There has been written so many about us, we just follow our own pattern.
Tom: If it's good critisism i don't mind at all. For instance if they write something about my guitar playing, then i do think about that. Maybe it even helps me. We are all open for that kind of critisism.
How do you feel about the fact...that you have to answer the same questions in interviews over and over again?
Bill: It's not that bad at all, in every country they wanna know different things. The most often asked question is: Where did you get the name tokio hotel from?
Tom: We have answered that question about 10 million times already, indeed.
How do you feel about the fact...that there is a movie being made about your lifes?
Bill: At this point there is nothing certain about that at all, but it is being discussed. It would be interesting to follow our adventures in other country's. I think it could be an interesting movie, so you never know...
How do you feel about the fact... that you get so many presents?
Bill: We get the most crazy stuff, but unfortunatly it is impossible to keep it all. Our houses are already stuffed, just like the studio and our tourbus. Especially when it's someones birthday we are being loaded with gifts.

Bill, If you were manger of tokio hotel, what whould you forbid your brother to do in 2008?
Bill: First to get something straight: a manger can’t forbid us anything. And Tom doesn’t let anyone tell him what to do anyway. He can be very stubborn , or he just pretends he didn’t hear it. He is very good at that. But if i had to think of something to forbid him, then he can in my opinion stop with holding his cap at photoshoots.That has become some sort of habbit of him.
Tom: So what? I just like the way it looks when i am holding my cap. Just let me!
Bill: You see? It is just no use saying something about anything anyway.
Tom, your turn. I fyou were manager of the band, what would be more on the menu in 2008?
Tom: Anything fried, meaning, burgers, french fries and other snacks. And everything time we would come to Holland i would make the boys happy with some pancakes, or at least myself. I just can eat myself sick with those.
Gustav, what is your good advice to the other bandmembers?
Gustav: Sleep more. First of all it is very good for human being and second of all, not having enough sleep is probably one of artists biggest problems. It often happens that we hang around to long after a concert or just stay talking, cause we are still full with energy. The day after you are totally broken. I think we missed out on many sleeping hours last year, so maybe we should have like a sleeping-break in 2008.
Georg: Gustav does have it’s brilliant ideas sometimes.
Bill: We all have trouble waking up. Most of the time we stay in bed till somebody gets us out. Basicly we wake up every day on the same time. Serious, if you don’t wake me up i would spend my entire life sleeping.
Gustav: You can also exaggerate.
Georg, With what would you surprise Gustav, Bill and Tom to make yourself more populair as manager.
Georg: I would take them out on a day with the bus to places we haven’t been before. I just love suprise trips.
Bill: Phew, i am so glad you said bus. I am fine traveling with a bus, but i don’t like being on an airplane. If possible i prefer traveling with boat, train or bus.
Tom: I t would be about time you learn to teleport yourself.
Tom, If you would be manager, what would bee the salary for next year.
Tom: Uhm.... that’s i difficult question. Everyone that works hard should earn much, i think. That doesn’t mean that i am unhappy with how much i am making. If it comes to money we can do everything we like, so you don’t hear me complaining. No, i know something: I would keep the same salary and everything that is left over we can put on a bank account and split in december next year.
Bill: What the hell are you talking about? We could always have more?
Georg: Haha, what Tom is trying to say i think is that we aren’t millionairs, but we also don’t need to be. We don’t do this for the money.
Bill: But i do like Tom’s idea to put the money on a bank account. I am also more a saver then a spender anyway. Right now i am saving money for a nice holiday, but i guess we are all doing that, right?
Georg: Yep, I the most fun part is i also can give my family a nice holiday .
Bill, I you were manager of tokio hotel, what would you want to promis the fans right now?
Bill: I hope i can promis them that we come back to Holland many times next year. But besides that i also would like to thank all of our Dutch fans very much. We really love you guys. This year you screamed, cheered and supported us. Point is: again in 2008!
Tom: I really like the audience in Holland is very mixt.
Bill: That’s right, i also saw many boys when we played in the Heineken Music Hall this year. But maybe that were just boys that had to come along with there girlfriend.
Gustav: Also, in Holland many parents come along to the concert, they are in the back of the hall pressed against the wall.
Bill: But that is in many country’s we get to, although, not all parents stand in the back. Recently a woman came up to me and said she wanted to marry me. I first asked her age and she was 35.
What is said to her? Uhm....
That i am just 18, i believe. And that marriage is very important in life, something to really think about. If i wanna get married? I am single right now and not in love so it isn’t gonna happen very soon.

Problem 1
I am in love with Bill, but will probably never meet him.
Bill: O, I dont know what to say to this. If you really are in love with me you should
.(Bill is thinking) Maybe you should come to one of our concerts and maybe Ill see you there then.
Tom: I actually wanna say something to this: you should be in love with me. Then it will all be alright!
Bill: Maybe you should just think to yourself that I am just a natural guy like any other. Does that heal a little bit of your broken heart?
Problem 2
I am a Tokio hotel fan and my class mates that are not tease me about it.
Bill: I think you just shouldnt respond to it and just take it.
Tom: Bill and I where also teased in school by people that hated us and that almost didnt influence us. For that matter, I am actually proud of the fact that I wasnt like the rest of the class. Bill and I thought it was more important to do other stuff, we didnt wanted to be wannabees. Being teased can clearly also have a positive effect. Just look at us.
Problem 3
My parents wont let me go to a Tokio hotel concert!
All four together: That is bullshit!
Tom: Our parents always allowed us to go to concerts. I was nine when I went to my first live concert and think everyone should have that freedom.
Bill: It is also stupid to forbid something like that, cause fans will eventually find a way to go to the concert.
Georg: The best is just to let your children free in this. To let them decide if they wanna go to a concert or not.
Tom: You know what I want? I wanna talk with the parents of our fans about this. Just give me there addresses, I will solve this.
Gustav: Exactly, just let them atingere us, we will arrange something.
Problem 4
I want the same hair as Tom, how do I do that?
Georg: O, that is difficult!
Tom: And is even right for once. I have really smooth hair from myself and it is costing me a lot of trouble to keep it up every day. For one thing, you have to turn it again every day and I have a excepÈional atomizator to keep it well. Whats in it, I wont tell, just know that I have been working on it in my little laboratory for hours (laughs). At least it is specially made for me and it is an awful lot of work. How long do I have it this way?
Georg: Just smell it, then you know!
Tom: I think about ten or eleven years
Problem 5
I am not allowed to hang Tokio hotel posters in my room
Bill: I used to have my room filled with it.
Tom: Exactly, he even had posters of me. Then he would make pictures of me and have them printed large and hang them on his wall.
Bill: Ach, halt die klappe! (Shut up!) That is not true
but I think everyone should have been fan of someone in there lives, meaning you also should have your room filled with posters. As a parent you should just allow that. They have been fan of someone too in there lives, right? I always used to love listening to the music of my favourite band in my room.
Tom: Used to? He still does that!
Problem 6
Where can I buy the cool clothes the boys wear?
Tom: If you wanna look like Georg, all you have to do isnt wash yourself for a month and then your done.
Georg: For example, yes.
Tom: And Bill? You really dont wanna look like that, do you?
Bill: I always buy my clothes at second hand stores, thats where you can get the most awesome clothes. So my tip is looking there if you want my look.
Problem 7
I feel bad because Gustav and Georg get less attention then Bill and Tom
Tom: Do you know why that is? They talk less and are more quiet then Bill and me. It would also be bad if they start talking more, cause they just dont know how to say what they mean. Have you ever heard these two talk German? It is just awful. There English is dramatic but there German is actually just as bad!
Bill: Georg and Gustav are just more quiet and dont look for the attention. We have gotten used to it, its just how it goes.
Georg: I also feel comfortable with it and
(long pause),
Bill: Thats all he can say
Gustav: He is just using our typical answer: I feel comfortable with it.
Problem 8
I would love to talk to Tokio hotel but I dont know German
Bill: You can also talk English to us. Now we can speak it just a little.
Tom: We know just enough to talk to fans

Tom: We actually know just enough
Bill: But we are working on improving it. We are going more often to America and England now so it is easier if you can speak the language. I hope we will get it soon.
